The ICOSA LIFE SCIENCES team is composed of two centers of expertise: the BIOLOGY/BIOTECH department and the CHEMICAL department. Our employees are graduates of the best French and/or international scientific schools or universities. They are both competent in “Science” and IP.
ICOSA LIFE SCIENCES‘ IP experts are assisted on a daily basis by a team of administrative assistants focused on IP procedures, who are in charge of online filings and the follow-up to relations with our foreign correspondents and national or supranational IP offices.
The BIOLOGY/BIOTECH department
The BIOLOGY/BIOTECH department is managed by Claire Verschelde and Manon Bonneton. It is composed of 15 experts with a PhD in Biology. This academic background gives them a deep understanding of innovations in the biotechnology sector, particularly in the fields of immuno-oncology, vaccines and gene therapy.
The CHEMISTRY department
The CHEMISTRY department is headed by Caroline de Mareüil-Villette and Virgile Grandclaude. It is composed of 10 experts with a PhD in Chemistry. They are specialised in different disciplines such as pharmaceutical chemistry, polymers and materials chemistry. Their know-how in obtaining Supplementary Protection Certificates (SPC) is recognised in both pharmaceutical and phytopharmaceutical industries.
Those IP specialists advise ICOSA’s clients in: all stages of the patent’s life (drafting, filing, granting), freedom-to-operate studies (analysis of third-party patents), patent mapping • IP strategy, drafting of license agreements and other IP agreements, management of know-how and databases, competitive intelligence, IP audits and due diligence in the context of fund-raising. In case of infringement, they propose ambitious strategies, both in attack and in defense, with the support of the ICOSA network of specialised lawyers, both from a technical and legal point of view, all over the world.
