PRACTICE & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Mélanie PARISE is a European and French Patent Attorney. She possesses strong expertise in Biotech, particularly in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Virology, and Immunology. She joined ICOSA’s Biotech-Biology team in 2019.
She assists her clients in defining IP strategies and advises them on patentability and freedom-to-operate aspects. She is involved in drafting patent applications, overseeing patent grant procedures, and providing legal consultations.
A graduate of the École Normale Supérieure on Rue d’Ulm and a Doctor in Microbiology-Virology, she conducted her thesis on the study of mechanisms of action of TRIM cellular proteins and their interferences with the HIV-1 and Adenovirus cycles at the University of Oxford and the Cochin Institute.
She initiated her career at a prominent French intellectual property firm where she gained ten years of experience before joining ICOSA.

- CEIPI (Center for International Intellectual Property Studies) diploma with a specialization in patents.
- Doctor in Microbiology-Virology from the University of Paris VII.
- Magistère in Biology-Biochemistry from the École Normale Supérieure de Paris (ENS Ulm).
- Master’s in Molecular and Cellular Biology, specialized in Fundamental Virology, from the Pasteur Institute.
